I have 2 laptops. A Dell XPS 15 9570 which is always at home, and a Asus Zenbook S13 OLED which is the portable device. Now, the Dell has a GPU, so it can run AI apps a bit faster than the Zenbook is only integrated graphics.
I have Ollama installed on both PCs and models downloaded on one. I didn’t want to download the models from the internet again. Then it hit me. I can keep both model folders in sync using Syncthing.
I located the models folder, at c:\users\%username%\.ollama\models and mapped them in Syncthing. My models folder is 18gb so it took a while to move across.
Well, it is done and I haveboth PCs running Ollama with their models. And any new model I download will automatically be available to the other.
